Put TBC on your phone
About a minute. There is nothing to download from a store — your phone turns this website into an app with its own icon. Follow the pictures.
Step 1: Open the link in Safari
It has to be Safari — the blue compass — not Chrome or the Instagram browser. If the link opened somewhere else, copy it and paste it into Safari.
Step 2: Tap the three dots in the bottom right
Newer iPhones keep Share inside this menu rather than on the toolbar, so look for ••• in the bottom-right corner.
Step 3: Tap “Share” in the menu
The menu slides up from the bottom. Share is near the top of it.
Step 4: Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
The menu that slides up has a list of grey rows. Swipe up on that list until you see Add to Home Screen, then tap it.
Step 5: Tap “Add” in the top-right corner
That’s it. The TBC icon appears on your home screen with your other apps.
Step 6: Open it from the icon and say yes to notifications
From now on, open TBC from the home-screen icon, not from Safari. The first time, go to Meand turn on notifications — on iPhone that only works from the installed app, and it’s how you hear that a game is cancelled.
Already added it, and still see an address bar?
Then your icon was made before we fixed this, and your phone has remembered the old answer. Make it again and it opens properly:
- 1.Press and hold the TBC icon on your home screen, then delete it.
- 2.Open tacomabaseballclub.app in Safari and pull down on the page once to refresh it.
- 3.Add it to your home screen again, using the steps above.
The refresh in step 2 matters. Your phone reads the page as it is on screen, so adding from a copy it had already saved would remember the old answer again.
